Regular Expanded Metal for Filter, Fence, Protection, Guard, Grill, Screen
REM-01: Regular expanded metal dimensions.
Regular expanded metal also called standard expanded metal or raised expanded metal is a finished product as it comes from the press after having been die cut and expanded. Each sheet that comes off the expander is in standard or regular form with the junctions at the strands and bonds forming a ridge surface. Typical applications include safety guards on various pieces of equipment or machinery. The illustration to the right shows that the strands and bonds form a sharp angle to the original plane of the solid sheet. Expanded metal is produced in regular form off the expanders. The strands and bonds are set at a uniform angle to the plane of the sheet. this gives added strength and rigidity, as well as a skid resistant surface.
REM-02: Regular expanded metal has anti-slip surface as it is cut and stretched into diamond openings.
REM-03: Regular expanded metal can be made with PVC coated, which is usually used as decorative building cladding.
REM-04: Regular expanded metal with PVC coated has various colours for choice, and the colour of rosy is very popular.
REM-05: Regular expanded metal can be coated with copper colour, which adds modern elements.
Specification of regular expanded metal:
- Materials: carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, iron, copper.
- Hole shapes: diamond, square, round, triangle and scale-shaped, hexagonal.
- Length: 1 m – 2.5 m.
- Width: 0.5 m – 2 m.
- Thickness: 0.5 mm – 8 mm.
- Surface treatment: powder coated, anodized, PVC coated or fluorocarbon spraying.
- Colors: green, white, black, blue, silver or other RAL colors.
- Packaging details: waterproof paper and woven bags or cartons in roll mesh, wooden pallet suit for sea transport or as your requires.
Standard sheets:
- Camber- The greatest deviation of a side edge from a straight line shall not exceed 3/32 inch per foot (0.8 mm per 100 mm) of dimension.
- Taper- Edges shall not deviate from parallel by more than 1/16 inch per foot (0.5 mm per 100 mm) of dimension, or 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) overall, whichever is greater.
- Squareness- Ends shall not be more than 1/8 inch per foot (1 mm per 100 mm) out of square or 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) overall.
- Flatness (levelness)- Sheets shall be free from waves or buckles that are in excess of 1-1/2 inch (38.0 mm) from a plane surface.

- As screens, used in noise barriers, etc.
REM-06: Regular expanded metal can be used for screening, filtration, protection and decoration.
